Community Spirit at Newbury Manor 

At Newbury Manor Nursing Home, the past month has been filled with kindness, conversation, and cause-driven activities. Residents, families, and staff have come together to support important charities while enjoying each other’s company , a true reflection of the caring community we are proud to nurture.

Coffee, Cake, and Care

One of the highlights was our Macmillan Coffee Morning, held on 26th September. The home was buzzing with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee, the clinking of teacups, and the chatter of friends catching up. Residents and visitors gathered around tables adorned with homemade cakes and treats, each slice shared helping to raise money for a cause that touches so many lives.

We were delighted to receive a heartfelt message from Sheona at Macmillan:
"Wishing you all the best with your Coffee Morning. We can't thank you enough for your support."

That message captured exactly what the morning was about, making a difference, together.

Marking Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

September is also Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, a time that holds deep meaning for our community. Throughout the month, staff and residents have reflected on the importance of awareness, support, and understanding for those living with dementia.

By engaging in discussions and raising awareness, we aim not only to support individuals within our home but also to contribute to the broader conversation around Alzheimer’s. Every gesture, no matter how small, helps shine a light on the need for compassion, research, and ongoing support.
