Festive Cheer Fills Newbury Manor
The festive season is well and truly underway at Newbury Manor and the home has been filled with joy, music and wonderful moments shared together. This week has been especially magical as residents, staff and visitors came together to celebrate all the things that make Christmas such a special time of year.
One of the highlights of the week was a delightful visit from the choir of George Road Community Church. Residents were thrilled to welcome the singers into the home and the atmosphere quickly became warm and uplifting as familiar festive melodies filled the room.
Everyone joined in enjoying old favourites such as Ding Dong Merrily on High, Away in a Manger, O Come All Ye Faithful and the much loved Silent Night which proved to be a popular choice on the day. Many residents were seen singing along, smiling and reminiscing as the music brought back cherished memories of Christmases past. The performance created a truly heart warming atmosphere and helped set the tone for the festive season ahead.
Throughout the choir visit residents were able to relax and enjoy the experience while staff were on hand attending to their every need. From offering refreshments to sharing a friendly chat, the team ensured everyone felt comfortable, cared for and included. Moments like these remind us how important it is to create meaningful experiences that bring comfort and happiness to our residents.
Festive fun continued with a wonderfully colourful Christmas Jumper Day which saw a fantastic turnout from both residents and staff. The home was brightened by an array of festive jumpers featuring bold colours, playful designs and plenty of sparkle. Taking part in days like this always brings a smile to everyone’s face, encourages conversation and adds an extra layer of Christmas cheer throughout the home.
Residents enjoyed complimenting each other’s outfits and sharing a laugh, while staff proudly joined in the spirit of the day. Well done to all of our dear residents and our amazing team for embracing the fun and making it such a joyful occasion.
Laughter echoed through Newbury Manor once again during the much anticipated staff pantomime featuring a lively performance of Oliver. Residents were delighted by the energy, costumes and humour, and it was wonderful to see so much laughter and applause. Events like the panto showcase the strong bond between residents and staff and highlight the dedication of our team to creating happy memories.
Looking ahead, excitement is building for the upcoming Christmas party on the nineteenth of December. With festive food, music and celebration planned, it promises to be another special day filled with togetherness and joy.
At Newbury Manor we are proud to create a festive season that is full of warmth, laughter and meaningful moments for everyone to enjoy.
